With a keynote talk, the subjects of discussion will be: finding harmony in our communities; overcoming problems of gossip; and being of positive service to our people.

NORTH AMERICAN INDIGENOUS GAMES
July 28 - August 10, 2008
During the successful summer indigenous games hosted by the Cowichan Tribes in Duncan, BC, First Nations artists and artisans sold an outstanding array of carvings, paintings and jewellry and celebrated the successes of highly skilled First Nations athletes from across the continent who participated in a full schedule of team sports such as canoe racing and softball, and individual competitions from archery to wrestling.

Darlene's paintings and art cards were on display for two weeks at the Tribal Journeys event and NAIG Cultural Village.

SPIRIT OF FALL EVENT
Oct 20/21 2007

Coast Salish, Cowichan, Kwakwaka'wakw, and Haida artists from across BC came and displayed their art in the Esquimalt Big House. The Tsinqua Dancers and Yellow Wolf singers performed and sang.

Grand Opening April 21st 2007
Our Grand Opening was attended by over 120 people, including Chief Andy Thomas, the Mayor of Esquimalt, the Mayor of View Royal, as well as many family and friends, art lovers and the curious.
The Mayors and Chief Thomas all spoke, wishing Darlene well and acknowledging the hard work that went into making the gallery a reality.
Darlene shared a bit about herself as an artist, and shared the meaning or inspiration behind a number of paintings. |

Totem Raising February 17th, 2007
Our first public welcome, where the One Moon Gallery doors were open to the public. Over 120 people were there to see the Sinqua Dancers and family friend Lou honour two artists: Darlene, as well as Doug LaFortune, the carver of the pole that stands outside our gallery.
