The Awakening
Purchase a Limited Edition Giclée of this painting

The Awakening was an image from Jasper, Alberta. The bears in the image, a mother and a cub, show that spring has just come and they have just awakened from hibernation and are looking for food.

A lot of people go to Jasper to see these beautiful creatures, and with any luck I will have another opportunity to go back and view them myself. In the sky, you see an image of a bear moon, and in the background you see the Rocky Mountains that are still covered in snow in a warm way. You know that spring is there because the snow is slowly melting, the white is disappearing, and it is a very beautiful time of year to be there.
