Where STones Talk is a piece that I painted where I used to live at Englishman River Falls in Errington. I used to spend a lot of time there as a child growing up. There are quite a few of those great gray owls that would come swooping down, and sometimes you would mistake them as an eagle because the are so big. It was an amazing place when it was damp, misty and wet. The rocks would almost appear as though they were glowing with colour, almost pastel-like depending on the colour of the sky.

This is a place where I used to sit, to the left of the big green rock. When I was 12 or 13 years old, I dreamed of painting this place and ended up doing it. I called it “Where STones Talk” because although it is embarrassing to say why, I could almost hear the rocks humming. You had to sit close and quietly and all of your senses become stronger, and I could feel the rocks vibrating and almost humming their own melody of music like it was going right though me, and it was a place I felt inspired me to become a stronger painter.
