The Fisherman

The Fisherman

So simple and grey, he awakes at dawn and plucks his meals from the glossy pools. He sees only the moment that lies before him and little else. He is too wise to want more than what nature offers.
Looking out over the surfaces that reflect the sky seems enough for the fisherman, and when the reflections become routine, he will freely fly to a new paradise, with no attachments or promises to return.

The Fisherman is a painting I did at the bird sanctuary in Cowichan Bay of two great blue herons, one which is standing by the waters edge and the other playing in the background. It is just a very tranquil image and the clouds you feel in your heart. It is an image showing my love for the land.
