Legends

Legends is a piece that is basically about the history of the First Nations people from Vancouver Island.

You can see a canoe with one person standing in it with the rest looking at the sun going down.

The superimposed images on the bottom are some of the tools that were used, with various styles of hats and a drum box, which was the traditional drum used on the island before the round stretched drums were used.

The drum box was only used by people from Vancouver Island, nowhere else in Canada, and that image is on this painting to explain that.
